A warm fire is blazing, smells of turkey and pumpkin pie filter through each room, while sounds of laughter rise above the football game. I smile contentedly. Yes, I'm thankful for all my many blessings... too many to count, but the secret to contentment is not found in blessings.
"How grateful I am... I have learned how to get along happily whether I have much or little. I know to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret to living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything with the help of Christ who gives me the strength I need." Phil. 4:10-13
Apostle Paul is saying that contentment is a state of "being" not a state of having. To have or have not is a question of ever changing circumstances; therefore happiness will remain but an allusion. But to know and rely on the One who holds the entire Universe up by The Word of His Power, therein is true Joy, therein is the secret to contentment. Remember today no matter what present challenge
